The Junior Church has continued to thrive throughout the year. Numbers in groups vary because of promotions to older classes, with fewer young children coming into the early stages. Most of our members attend very regularly but some only come once a month or less. The average attendance is about 24. We use Scripture Union “Salt” teaching materials that are Bible based and suggest lively activities. We have had a busy and enjoyable year preparing for and taking part in the Christmas pageant service and a Junior Church celebration service, as well as some joining in two performances of the Christian Aid musical “The Feast of Life”. The older children and young people were involved in an evening youth service, and a group of the seniors went to the MAYC Breakout morning celebration in the Docklands Arena. There was no Easter Club this year as attendance was very low last year. It was felt that there should be a break, with time to consider what to do next year. There was an enjoyable picnic at Hainault Forest Country Park in June organised by the Junior Church for all the church family. George (on behalf of the Junior Church Team) |
